Rip off artists with poor customer service. Their meter was out of action for 3 months and not sending accurate readings, so they estimated my usage which is fine, however once the meter was fixed they invoiced me for double what my previous (actual readings) read. Whe I brought this up wiht meridian I was passed around to different staff members until I mentioned involving the UDL. After this I had the misfortune of dealing with a Ashleigh Curtis who is part of the escalated customer care team, I found her to be ignorant and arrogant, not answering questions posed to her via email and sending meter reading graohs which required a math degree to interpret, after having enough of dealing with her I asked to speak to bher manager via the online chat and a call to the call centre, the next day Ashleigh phones me telling me I will only be dealing with her. I asked who she was answerable to and she said the UDL. I mentioned she was employed by meridian so must be answerable to someone within meridian, she refused to answer this and when I asked her to confirm who she was employed by she told me "You should know the answer to that" and then hung up. Meridian then ceased all communication with me. The initial switch was great and they couldnt have been more helpful, however once signed up their service changes for the worse. Would avoid using again and would rather catch covid while having every bone in my body broken then deal with these muppets again, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Bad customer service, have been trying to ring the meridian energy call centre 0800496496 for 2 was now between 9am- 4pm but it keeps saying they are shut & to call back during opening hours from 9am- 5pm but they are not open so I am a customer but cannot get through to them, maybe they need to sort this out

Not one to leave reviews usually but just finished another call with Meridian, again friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Also online statistics are easy to access and worth studying from time to time. Very happy customer. Wish other large companies would answer that quickly and with a 'real' person.
